an entertaining time passer
im not going to bother going into the ins and outs of the story,there's plenty of info out there for that.despite the negative reviews this one got, i quite enjoyed watching it,for a Sunday afternoon time passer. yeah the animation is a bitlacking, and the story is so cliché its painful, but, there were a fewlaugh out loud moments and in general an all round OK movie don't watch if your into something that pushes the boundaries ofanimation techniques or story telling.do watch if like me, u have a soft spot for the simple stories thathelp pass a relaxing afternoon.absolutely fine for the kiddies really, some really obscure sexualreferences to appeal to the older kiddies but nothing to worry about.definitely a rainy day film

This is a very good movie.I do not know why pepple hat this movie soo much.There is nothing wrong with this movie at all.What up with all the bad reviews out there.This is a good family fun, low key movie for all ages.The movie is like landy and the tramp and lion king 2 altogether in one movie.How pepple do not like this like that.This movie looks alsome on blu-ray.

A turkey in wolf's clothing.
I just got done watching this with some friends/neighbors. There were 5 kids between 6 and 12, a late teen, and 6 adults. I think the only ones who enjoyed this movie in any way were the two youngest. The incredible number of previews generated multiple laughs compared to the turkey of a feature that followed. There is little story, no sense of danger, and very few laughs. There is a cool scene at the beginning with a roller coaster cam shot of wolves sledding downhill on a tree (yes, you read that correctly), but they do the same shot two more times in the movie and it loses its power. And the wolves "howl"/sing in a way that is unpleasant/weird, which jars you out of scenes that would tolerable otherwise. I gave it more than 1 star because it is not offensive (a few butts, but that's it), some of the afore mentioned "roller coaster cam" shots are cool, and my 6 year old liked it OK. But there are much better movies out there.

Two young wolf pups escape after being captured by hunters and start atrek home. Humphrey(voiced of Justin Long)and Kate(voice of HaydenPanettiere)have grown up together, but are different as night and day.Humphrey is quick-witted, but would rather frolic with his friends thananything else. Kate is disciplined and is skilled in hunting. The twoare thousands of miles away from their home in Jasper Park; but need toget back home if for no other reason than reuniting their polarizedpack. Usually an omega wolf like Humphrey has very little in commonwith and alpha wolf like Kate; these two contentious travelers manageto work well with each other...and the long trip may even allow a sparkof romance. Anthony Bell and Ben Gluck direct this pleasant featurefrom Crest Animation. Other voices you may recognize: Danny Glover,Christina Ricci, Larry Miller, Brian Donovan and the late DennisHopper. Visually fantastic and fun for all ages.

Cute & Entertaining
I won't synopsize the movie because that's been done, but it is entertaining for kids. The animation is good and so is the voice acting so that adults can watch too, but the film has captivated my son. And he's surprisingly picky about what he likes to watch. At four years old, he especially likes the positive and somewhat corny family and friends interactions. I am pretty happy about that as I don't have to explain a lot of serious emotions like real loss and even death (ie Lion King). There's a lot of action to keep his interest and the deeper themes about social and class status and even race are not lost on the adult audience.

ok but not great
I got this move because I missed it in the theaters. I thought by the pre-views I had seen that it would be a very good movie.Once it got here and i watched it i was very disapointed. The story has great potential,but falls way short of it.

LOVED THIS MOVIE!!
I WATCHED THE MOVIE LAST NIGHT BY MYSELF AND LOVED IT. THEN I WATCHED THE MOVIE WITH MY 3 ND 5 YEAR OLD CHILDREN AND THEY LOVED IT ALSO. WITH THAT BEING SAID, IT IS A GREAT MOVIE!!!

Yawn
I went to this movie not expecting much and it lived up to myexpectations. None of the wolves have any real character development orcharacter for that matter. The plot is quite bland and offers verylittle in the way of surprises. The trip back to Jasper Park comes abit too easily. This would have been a perfect time to develop the twomain characters a bit better or perhaps allow them some selfrealization. Granted this is a kid's movie, but so are all the gemsthat Pixar generates. This film gives no characters to cheer on, noconflict with any level of complex resolution and it just has anoverall bland quality to it.

Exciting and fun all the way through
I had was not expecting much when I went to the theaters to watch this.But about halfway through the movie I realized I was sitting on theedge of my chair getting really excited about what was going to happen.I thought the characters were interesting and funny, and the overalltheme of the movie a good one too. I think the only only thing i wantedto see more of was more of the wolves interacting with the humans, orseeing the human world. But I thought that the addition of the geesecharacters was awesome!! they totally made the movie that much better.They were like Timon and Pumba from the lion king!I wish that I had movies like this when I was a kid!!

Embarrassing To Watch...Shoulda Went Straight To DVD
I think I saw this at some theaters and after watching this, should have went directly to dvd and then it's only good as a rental. I really don't get how some good movies go to dvd while others like this go to the theaters. It's a kind of movie that a parent would bring their child to, only to yawn themselves to sleep while their little child claps and screams out "daddy, daddy! Look at the woof woof!" (replace daddy with mommy if you're a mom). The only age that'll appreciate this would be ages 1 through maybe 8? It makes me just embarrass just to be seen watching this, definitely not for serious dates, even if you just want a easygoing laughable movie, this is not the one to choose. It has a lot of childish humor. Embarrassing to watch scenes include wolves howling like they're singing, which made me cringe and shut my eyes, praying that it'd go away. This is a lower budget animation. I'm a gaming/animation major, but it doesn't take someone in gaming or animation major to tell you that the animation is of lower caliber to something like...Ice Age for example. The film I found was boring, the humor was not very amusing to my taste, the plot has been overdone (Romeo and Juliet variety), animation was alright but definitely nothing special and definitely not revolutionary. Humor involving the mom, nice try but didn't go through, it was too corny.I skipped through many parts of the movie because I just couldn't take anymore mediocre/bad films, it's a bit overwhelming. This is why pirating has gone up and the movie industry wonders why? Better movies and lower movie prices please.Cute movie, but leave it to the young kiddies. The movie is definitely not universally entertaining and if you're an adult that gets lots of laughs from this, either you're on multiple medications which you should have prescribed me a couple of OR you have a brain of a 5 year old, which I don't find surprising.The rating system on amazon is near worthless as well.... I suddenly pictured torture in third world countries that involve continuous reruns of films like these....cringe...

Cute!
Despite all the poor reviews online, my 6-yr old daughter loves this movie. Although I have not had the opportunity to sit down with her to watch the entire film, I will admit there is a lot of adult humor (like most children's movies nowadays... Look at Toy Story 3 and SpongeBob.) No matter... picture quality good, and my daughter really wanted to add this movie to her collection. At Target's unbeatable sale price of $9.00, it was a good buy too.

Alpha and Omega
I watched this recently and I dont think it was the best movie ive seen in a long time but it was pretty good. I love wolves and from the cover this movie kinda reminded me of Balto, which I love, so I thought why not. The animation isn't great but the wolves still look kinda cool and there are pretty cool fight scenes. This movie also made me laugh out loud which most kids movies dont do nowadays. If youre a kid or love kids movies id check it out but most adults Id say pass on this one

GREAT!!!
Great movie! Imagine having your heart ripped out, run over and then put back togther agin. It makes you realizee how hope is all around. Love,action,drama and these are just of the words that describe what this movie is all about. Buy this movie you will not be sorry. Do not give up on your dreams one day it might just come true. The end might be might look bleek just keep going you will cry guranteed. The End.

Not to shabby.
Not to bad of a movie. I think the animation could of looked better. Story was ok to, buoy kids really enjoyed it, so 4 stars for keeping them entertained.
