Pathetic

Before I begin my barrage of criticisms, let me say something: I have not seen the original, so what you are about to read isn't the rant of a fanboy. This movie is utterly laughable, first of all, the plot is completely predictable, by the middle of the movie I could predict without error everything that would happen. The characters are lifeless shells, it makes you wonder if the actors were even trying. The special effects are pretty lame as well, the ships look silly and the glass-shattering injuries look dumb. The most impressive thing I can think of is seeing two Jeff Bridges, and that wears off quickly.

Tron is just awesome

This review is from: Tron: Legacy / Tron: The Original Classic (Five-Disc Combo: Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray / DVD / Digital Copy) (Blu-ray) I wasn't around when the original Tron was released. But I have always had a healthy appetite for sci-fi movies and Tron is considered to be one of the best around. I watched bits and pieces of Tron all throughout my life, but I never sat down and watched it from start to finish until about one year ago. I will concede that this movie was not very story-driven, if at all. But Tron is a charming and visually impacting (even to this day) movie. It essentially created a world that had never been seen before. All the actors are top-notch and the visual effects still look unique. When Tron: Legacy was announced, I was excited. All the trailers and all the hype surrounding the movie was, in my opinion, well deserved. I saw Tron: Legacy in 3D, and even though everyone seems to agree that the 3D was amazing, I was unimpressed. The visual effects were amazing and even a little extraordinary at times, but I was more enthralled by the set pieces and the the visual style of the film. I really enjoyed this movie. In my opinion it should have been a contender for best visual effects in the academy awards. But my favorite part of the film is, without a doubt, the soundtrack. I love Daft Punk, I basically grew up with their music and this album really proves that they are extremely versatile. This soundtrack truly sold the film. Every scene was made that much more powerful with the accompanying score. I, for one, hope that Tron turns into a successful franchise. I hope that they keep exploring The Grid and the infinite possibilities that come along with it.

A response to Tron: Legacy's greatness, and its negative reviews which miss the point

I went in with low expectations after reading all the complaints andreviews about the plot being shallow. After leaving the film though, iwas thoroughly impressed with Tron: Legacy. What "bad plot", I keptmuttering to myself. "What the hell are they talking about?" Maybe thisis how it feels to be a fan of Avatar. That said, I think reviewers are completely missing the point of Tron:Legacy. So many have commented on the absent explanations being theelement that ruined the film for them but so many forget that thefilm's technicalities were too convoluted to begin with to even beginexplaining (such as how and why the grid works), so it instead told afairly simple hero's journey. As James Berardinelli writes in hisreview (also, off topic, why is he considered a top reviewer on RT?),"They had 28 years, and this is the best they could come up with?"Precisely my point. They had 28 years of technical advances! How do youadapt the original Tron's explanations? You can't. Leave it to thesci-fi novels, and at times, I really felt like Tron: Legacy was anadaption of a much larger, and more complicated novel. Instead ofrummaging through made-up plot science, it relished in the atmosphere, imagery, and ambiance, furthering my suspicions that Tron: Legacy wasreally just a sci-fi novel adaption in disguise, as adaptions of novelusually focus on the atmosphere and recreating rich personalitiesrather then getting bogged down in a heavy plot. I was reminded ofInception, and how that danced around its explanations in favor oftelling a great story.I am wondering if there's some part of this film that alienates people. That makes people fight back against just sitting back and letting thefilm entertain you. I saw one alienating plot element, the meanderingnarrative, but thought it was methodical, and I suppose it could bedescribed as "boring" especially as the ending feels a bit light footedconsidering all the build up. Not enough "epic" action. Not enoughTron, though really, it became readily apparent that 2/3 way into thefilm, the plot had switched to "leading up to another sequel mode".Really, the only thing keeping me from enjoying the film, which I foundengrossing in how it relished every moment of screen time it had totantalize the eyeballs of the viewer, was Olivia Wilde. She is thisperfect romantic lead and I instantly melt when she appears on screen.I was on the edge of my seat the entire film, hoping she'd make it outto reality with Sam. It was intense in that she is such an enduringactress and she nails her part so brilliantly, that her romanticescape, for me, became the entire driving force of the film.Let's finish it up with the hivemind complaints about Sam's character(Flynn's son). He's empty and shallow, but that is ENTIRELY THE POINT.His life is lacking, and he uses his father's absence as an easyexcuse. I see this all the time in other films and people seem to getit. It's father-son relationships 101. When his father asks about him,and Sam instantly seems disappointed in himself, it's because of hisaimlessness. I found this to be incredibly enlightening consideringthis was a Disney backed film and Disney loves perfect protagonists. Bythe end of the film, Sam had gone through an arc. We're not suppose tolike him at the beginning, we're suppose to sympathize with him.Last bit: The screenplay for Tron: Legacy reminds me of a verymillennial gen-minded process for adaption, and I wouldn't be surprisedif style over substance becomes a more standard modern methodology. Theonly problem is, most people go to see films to be "entertained" andhave no precognition of the purpose of a film besides that. It'll beinteresting to see what sells, and what doesn't.

Watch for entertainment, not for enlightenment.

Great music, great Olivia Wilde, and MICHAEL SHEEN. It was my moviepick of the month and for $6 it wasn't bad. Daft Punk is back againwith a great soundtrack, and Olivia Wilde is hot as hell and cute. Our main character is pointless, but he does the job. The movie goesinto the Tron world and fighting against CLUE. Other than theunexplainable minor details in the plot… or technological logic as wellas the most horribly scripted chase scene (which included, but was notlimited to WOO!!! and YES's!), I enjoyed myself.Of course my favorite part was Michael Sheen who played a function thatexuded David Bowie and just fun. I think he was the highlight of thefilm, if not just a gem.Watch for entertainment, not for enlightenment.

Visually stunning, but everything else is just okay

I'll be honest, I wasn't a huge friend of the original "Tron" and had no interest in watching it. But eventually, we rented it and I decided to rent it. I liked it better than the original "Tron", but it wasn't the best movie ever. The graphics were amazing. The way they were able to create the whole video-game world was cool. Nothing looked cheap or lame. I thought it was also interesting, that with Jeff Bridges, they were able to make him look younger (not just with hair color, but also removing wrinkles and stuff like that.) Hands down, the graphics are five stars. But everything else? I can only give it an "okay" unfortunately.THE PLOT: At least there WAS a plot. In the original "Tron," I couldn't see a plot (but at the same time I wasn't really paying attention.) It was pretty basic and somewhat unoriginal (bad ruler, must destroy bad ruler), but easy to follow. THE ACTING: Garett Hetlund can somewhat act. I can sort of see some acting skils poking through, but a lot of the time, he sort of came off as a pubescent boy who's saying, "Look how cool I am. Do you see my awesome talent?"I liked Olivia Wild's acting overall and I liked Quorra's character. She was tough, but not one of those "kick-butt-without-a-heart" female characters. My only real complaint for her is that the wig looked sort of funny on her. It didn't come off obvious that she had one, but she looks better with brown hair. Maybe it looked funny because her eyebrows weren't the same color as her hair.Between Sam and Quorra, I appreciated that there was barely any romance. I like just a little bit of romance sprinkled in a film (or book), but this didn't have any. It also didn't have one of those start-out-fighting-end-up-in-love relationships (which is starting to get very overused.)Jeff Bridges played a good Clu/Kevin Flynn. The Sirens (for the short time that they're in it) were awesome. Whoever did their makeup deserves a round of applause, all silvery and pale and almost frightening.LOVED Zuse/Castor. He was hilarious and absolutely entertaining to watch.Overall, this film is good, but definitely not worth buying. Go rent it from Redbox or Netflix.

Tron Legacy

Tron Legacy is actually one of the rarest sequels that even surprise the original film twenty-eight years later with more cutting-edge 3D visual effects, Jeff Bridges(Kevin Flynn and Clu) and Bruce Boxleitner(Alan Bradley/Tron) returns with new to the series, Garrett Hedlund(Sam Flynn), Olivia Wilde(Quorra), Beau Garrett(Gem), and Michael Sheen(Castor, who looks like David Bowie) in the blockbuster event that translated from a giant Comic-Con Buzz teaser when it was called Tr2n to Disney greenlighting and recalling it Tron: Legacy with a giant marketing campaign and a giant $170 million budget plus more back on marketing with making almost $400 million at the worldwide box office, it may have not pulled off giant numbers as Disney was expecting but it was decent. The Original Score was done amazingly by Grammy Award winner Daft Punk and they even have a cameo appaerance in the film. The Visuals are exciting, the story may feel flat at times but this film is Disney's answer to The Matrix. Go and get this movie so we can see a Tron 3!

Tron Dumbed Down

Tron whilst entertaining in some respect, simply failed to tell storyin a manner appropriate to the story. The digital effects whilst pretty failed to hold to any idea of adigital landscape and creating a visual atmosphere at odds with thestory. Plasma like explosions, smoke and water had no real place in adigital environment and broke an already weak story. It all come off as an unimaginative hack to exploit a better told storyfor a quick buck. Unimaginative story, stale script, ill thought outvisuals and modern day testament to the continued dumbing down sciencefiction. If you watched and really enjoyed the original Tron just pretend thatTron Legacy had never been made and avoid it.

loccomotive2000 29 April 2012

Over-expectation strikes again...

The last blockbuster of 2010 comes in the form of the long awaitedsequel to the 80s visual effects landmark, TRON, which despite it'slimited success both critically and commercially, has amassed a cultfollowing spanning two decades.TRON: Legacy takes place some twenty over years after the events of thefirst film. Kevin Flynn, CEO of software company Encom, had gonemissing without a trace, leaving his empire to his disillusioned son,Sam, who still wonders why his father would leave him behind without aword. The hero's call arrives in the form of a page from Kevin's oldarcade, and from there, Sam is transported to a cyberworld his fathercreated called The Grid, filled with programs that behave like sentientbeings, where he must win gladiatorial games in order to survive...orvice versa. The most undeniably brilliant aspect of Legacy would of course be thevisuals. They've made one hell of an upgrade from the designs in theoriginal, and its wonderful seeing how director Joseph Kosinski pushedthe boundaries but remained within the physical laws of the lightcyclebattles and the disc wars. Coupled with sleek choreography, it's one ofthe most original action sequences I've seen in a while.Oscar winner Jeff Bridges barely breaks a sweat in both roles as KevinFlynn and his rogue creation, the program CLU, the latter which is aneerie "de-aged" version of Bridges. As Flynn, he assumes a sage-likepersona, a Zen master of sorts, who watches in despair as his corruptedcreations wreck havoc in his supposedly perfect world. Garrett Hedlundas Sam is somewhat average in his delivery as a frustrated young man,but is nonetheless competent. And Olivia Wilde, as Kevin's apprenticeQuorra, makes a great addition as the ass-kicking eye candy, who isalso revealed to have a much more pivotal role as the story progresses. The films also contains lots of allusions to themes from variousreligions and schools of thought, most prominently Christianity andBuddhism, giving a nice touch of depth to the film. The most obviousparallels being how CLU turned on his creator, all the characters'desire to attain liberation from the virtual world, and how our trio ofheroes assumed the roles in the Trinity. I am a free thinker fascinatedwith films that carry philosophical themes in them, and while Legacy isno Matrix, it's just as fun delving into. Now for the drawbacks, which I am quite reluctant to address. Legacyfaces a bit of pacing problems from not just having to introduce thosewho hadn't seen the original to The Grid, but explaining what hadhappened in between the two movies, and setting up a whole newstoryline that sparks off from those events. The plot devices used todrive the story also tends to be rather weak and uninspired, whichundermines the necessity of a number of scenes and characters. The 3Dis also only present for about half the film, and does just a bit moreto enhance the experience of The Grid, which is thankfully alreadymind-blowing on its own.Lastly, Daft Punk's music score deserves special mention. It is anabsolute masterstroke; there's just no other way to complement thismovie than electronic music, and combined with violins, theyeffortlessly takes you for a spin on the lightjet.Overall, the film is a visionary spectacular and an effective actionfilm, but the story could well be improved. Having not learned mylesson and going into the cinema with expectations so high, in partthanks to the huge hype surrounding the movie, there's no helping thefeeling of disappointment. Despite that, the fantastic visuals managedto excel on its part and provides a comforting consolation in this hightech adventure. That about sums it up. End of Line.

TRON: Legacy--One of the best 2010 had to offer.

I was definitely expecting to be impressed by this movie, since I've always been naturally inclined toward all things sci-fi. I'd seen the trailer and thought it looked like it was worth seeing. I was excited, but I was nowhere near expecting to witness the glory that this film put forth. I went to see it in 3D with my two roommates, and even though they don't share my love of science fiction--all three of us were thoroughly blown away by this movie. I remember the response one of us had directly afterward, and that was just one simple phrase: "Wow. THAT was amazing." The special effects, the plot, the actors, and especially the soundtrack. I really am not kidding when I say that we were all in agreement when we decided that the other 3D movies we'd seen thus far paled in comparison to TRON. Yes, even James Cameron's Avatar. NOW THESE EFFECTS ARE TRULY SPECIALTron City in this film is even more visually stimulating than Pandora, even if it isn't bursting with color as much as the world of the Nav'i did. For me, the neon lights against a black sky and dark terrain looked much more stunning than the more natural-looking terrain of Pandora or even Wonderland (Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland). TRON is truly unique, with the light cycles and light jets that seem to erupt out of thin air, slow-motion derezzing, and gripping, edge-of-your-seat disc battles. And even though it is based on the 1982 film of the same name, its look does not borrow heavily from it. I FIGHT FOR THE USER!Sam Flynn, the son of creator Kevin Flynn, goes looking for his father years after he went missing--and finds him trapped in the digital world of his own creation. Together with a program named Quorra that his father had sort of adopted as his own daughter, they set out to stop C.L.U, a creation of Kevin's that has gone rogue and taken matters into his own hands. A fairly simple storyline, but I've got to hand it to Jeff Bridges. He does an excellent job of playing both the protagonist and the antagonist. I also appreciated many of the moral themes that were promoted throughout the movie, such as courage, selflessness, devotion, and family, among others. Another thing. I was really happy with how awesome and chock-full of action and suspense this film was, without the blood and the gore--but also without the fight sequences seeming cheesy or unrealistic (you know, the whole idea of people being thrown into things or hit with large objects but not really taking any damage). It really shows that a movie CAN be awesome without gory violence, sex, nudity/near nudity, or crude humor. DAFT PUNKLast but most definitely not least, is the soundtrack. The soundtrack for this movie, in my opinion, is the best I've heard for a while. It resonates perfectly with every epic moment and makes it ten times more epic. Usually, when I watch a movie, not much attention is devoted to the music. It's just sort of there, playing along in my subconscious mind. But this was different. This was a soundtrack that was actually noticed. Daft Punk is a major part of what made TRON: Legacy so spectacular. Their style of music is just so well suited to the movie, and of course, they did a fantastic job.THE BOTTOM LINETRON is an excellent movie for people of all ages. Even the kids. Both visibly and audibly tantalizing, it is something that will be enjoyed by the entire family, I promise. I highly recommend seeing it in 3D. It'll probably be expensive, but it is beyond worth it. So please, do yourself and a favor and go see TRON: Legacy before it leaves the theaters for good, because I'm pretty sure this will be one of those movies for which the big screen actually makes a significant difference.

For Faithful Disney Fans, Vindication

it's been a long, thankless road for fans of the original Disney film'Tron', but finally after some thirty years there is someacknowledgment of what many fans have known for years. 'Tron' is anunder-appreciated film experience and Disney film and a lot of fun.it's great to see it get the attention it's always deserved.as a Disney fan since practically birth, and a fan of the forgottenDisney classics of the 1980's, i've always loved 'Tron' and have alwaysdefended it to the many detractors i've met throughout the years thathave always argued that it was a dismal failure. sure. 'Tron' was a boxoffice flop at the time, but i felt it was a good film and excellentDisney. just like the equally under-appreciated 'Black Hole', 'Tron'was one of the last films to come out of the original Disney Burbankstudios. as a Disney fan it is noteworthy just for that alone. but likethe 'Black Hole' i continued to be faithful to it and kept watching itwhenever i could throughout the years.i've always felt the 1980's was a more noteworthy period in Disneyhistory than a lot of fans and critics like to believe. although notentirely successful, with critics or audiences, the Disney films of the1980's are just now coming into their own in terms of recognition.great animated classics like 'Fox and the Hound', 'BlackCauldron','Great Mouse Detective', and 'Oliver & Co.', as well as liveaction fare such as 'Tron', 'The Black Hole', the eerie 'Watcher in theWoods', and the scary adaptation of Ray Bradbury's 'Something WickedThis Way Comes'. all excellent movies and all under appreciated at thetime, are now starting to become familiar to mainstream audiences andDisney fans.like the animated 'Black Cauldron', 'Tron' was always, to a lot of us,the quintessential 80's Disney film. so the sequel, 'Tron Legacy',isreally a homage to that period. and an excellent one at that andprobably with broader audience appeal than the original. i still feelthe original film is more colorful and Disney like, it looks more likeold fashioned hand drawn cartoons than the sequel. that's what i likeabout the original film.the new 'Tron', has more of the feel of recent cinema sci-fi fantasyand CGI films offered to todays audiences. but i was surprised at howfaithful it was to the spirit of Steven Lisberger's first film and toDisney. the neon looking 'Tron' Disney castle logo at the beginning wasa blast and very funny. and the new film kept the story very simple andstraight forward. i kind of expected a convoluted mess of a story asthe film tried to out do the original in complexity, but not so. thiswas very uncomplicated and unburdened by such things. and surprisinglyunpretentious.i also felt it was the concept/idea of creative artist and notmarketing executives. i mean what studio executive in their right mindwould want to make a sequel some thirty years later to a film thatflopped? not many so you know this was a creative push.the design was just great. every idea from the original 'Tron' is hereplus a few more clever ones thrown in to "freshen" things up. even anod to Kubrick's '2001' is here. Flynn's dining room is reminiscent ofthe dining room/bedroom at the end of '2001' with it's box-lightedfloors and white walls with Baroque paintings and furniture. trippy.and the 'Light Cycles'(the most famous thing from the original) werejust as fun as the first time. there was lots of authentic atmosphereto this new 'Tron'. they even had a weird effect (at least i think itwas a effect)of Jeff Bridges looking as young as he did in 1980. theyalso showed the original 'Tron' arcade game, although i remember thegame cost fifty cents and not a quarter.HAW HAW!arcades. remember them? seems like a dated concept now thatmost video games are played at home. it would be funny to explain tokids today that we didn't have video games in the home. at least mostof us didn't. possibly 'Pong' or something.this was also an excellent film for kids and families. very "G" ratedand wholesome. there is no swearing or actual bloodshed, but parentsshould be strongly cautioned that there is suggestion of alcoholconsumption. something maybe not to suitable for minors.i thoroughly enjoyed this sequel. and it was a must in 3D. it was trueto the original Disney film and it's message was still a good one aboutsharing versus greed. something 'Tron' has always been about. althoughi did miss the original 'Tron' score by 'Clockwork Orange''sWalter/Wendy Carlos.

Tron: Legacy

This review is from: Tron: Legacy (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo) (Blu-ray) The original TRON had more story. The original special effects of the original movie were original ideas to back-up the storyline, and with that, writing for the original movie was believable and could stand on it own. TRON: LEGACY, the special effects carried the movie and where is a plot. It seems like the writing for the plot was an after thought. The race scene was dazzling, but it did not have the same sense of purpose as in the original. It seems that the special effects is what the movie is all about. For those who saw the original TRON and heard that there is a sequel coming out, ask yourself what did you remember? Was it the special effects or was it the plot in it environment?

Great effects look even better BluRay

This review is from: Tron: Legacy (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo) (Blu-ray) Technology is great. Remember the watching a movie back in the 80's. The detail, effects and clarity sucked. This movie with the new technology and cgi + a HD plasma tv + Blu Ray player = awesome movie experience.

Better Than the First TRON But Still Bad

This sequel to TRON, TRON: Legacy, is better than the first TRON moviewhich I thought was just awful but this movie still is not worthseeing, I give it 3 out of 10 and was very disappointed with it eventhough I went in obviously expecting very little out of it. I am a JeffBridges fan and was really hoping this movie would be good but it justwas not.I like 3D movies in general but despite some good effects was boredthrough most of this movie and wishing it would just end. The firstmovie was from 1982 and the effects look stupid now but at the timethey were revolutionary and very mind blowing, I think obviously theonly reason that movie got any kind of cult following was for the leapforward in computer effects and not for the story because that moviewas just stupid. This is the first feature movie directed by Joseph Kosinski and it'shard to tell if this movie being so bad is his fault or just the badideas/script involved. In the movie basically Jeff Bridge's son gets amessage from him in the world of TRON where he is trapped and he getssucked into that world as well where he tries to help his dad.Bridges/Hedlund/Wilde acting wise were all fine the problem with themovie was just what a stupid story and concept the whole TRON ideawas/is.The 3D/2D stuff was pretty neat and a good idea but again the effectsbeing great did not make up for the story being so stupid for me.

Henrick Smith 21 April 2012

5 for the effects, 0 for the story

TRON feels like it was written by committee, and I suspect it was.But with all that money in effects, who needs a coherent story? The effects are dazzling. Brings up a good point. If there are many fx in a film, would a storyget in the way of that? Or, is a good story just superfluous? Does anyone really have theattention span for it anyway? I say, yea, we do!! We would like a good story. We'd like to care aboutthe characters. The effects are nice though, gotta give them that.If it only had a writer to match the effects.

Chris Davis 20 April 2012

This is greatness!

Tron: Legacy was an amazing film! Stunning visuals and a greatsoundtrack won me over in a heart beat. Jeff Bridges is always a greatactor and in this included. Michael Sheen was not wasted in this as heplayed such a great character. The story was my only concern and it seemed a little weak but did notdistract me from the film. The whole family will enjoy this one!Daft Punk's score was brilliant! The amazing background music was soawesome and it really helped me immerse myself into the movie! Itotally recommend this one to everyone!9 out of 10!

visually spectacular, take it for what it is

Last year, when G4 network was still carried by DirecTV, I watched theoriginal Tron movie several times during their marathon of it. I tookit for what it was, a movie pushing the envelope of graphics in theearly 1980s. The story was predictable: save the (digital) world, winthe girl. Plus, I got to see Bruce Boxleitner 10 years before he tookcommand of Babylon 5.I took the opportunity to watch Tron: Legacy at the IMAX 3D theatersince it seemed like the thing to do.Sound - My ears are still bleeding from the incessant indistinctrumbling blasting forth throughout most of the movie. It more resembledgeneralized noise than useful auditory information; too much of a goodthing. The rare moments of silence were precious--it's not necessary tokeep the VU meter pumping full time like a radio station. Silence, likenegative space, can be used to good effect. The music was OK, but Iwouldn't know Daft Punk from The Eurythmics.Visuals - I got to the theater too late so wound up sitting in thefront row (right next to Bob Uecker). I had to hold my head just so inorder to get decent 3D imaging, plus it distorted my overall view ofthe huge screen. Still, the 3D effects worked where they used them. Thetrouble comes from the fact that The Grid is a totally fabricatedworld, which means that there are no real reference points that aiddepth perception. This made some of the battle game scenes difficult tofigure out who got hit and who was still standing, aside from thecolors of their "uniforms". The ADHD editing style that pervadestelevision and movies these days demands rapid-fire action, but itwould be nice to impart some understanding of the action to the viewer. We'd like to follow the story, too, you know.Story - boy saves dad, wins the girl, but dad ends up sacrificinghimself to save the boy. I took it for what it was and am not analyzingit. I agree with a number of posts on the comment board that point outplot holes and things which can't even pass suspension of disbelief.I'll leave it at that.Old/new - There was a certain quaintness about the original Tron viewedthrough the prism of 28 years and all the technological changes thathave been wrought in that time. Perhaps I expected more out of a modernversion of Tron than I got. I prefer the visuals of the new movie, butthe story and acting of the old one.Overall, I enjoyed the new movie well enough, but I would happily tradea good percentage of over-the-top special effects for better storytelling. It's a mainstream movie, so I set my expectations accordinglyand they were pretty much met.

Great movie

This review is from: Tron: Legacy (DVD) I love that Jeff Bridges was in both movies and that they didn't replace him with a "look-a-like". The movie was great. The plot was excellent. Good life lessons. Could have done without the swearing (it doesn't get the point across any better!)

Wrong title, should of been call Rinzla

This movie could of been called Rinzla or Clu, suggesting a mediocredeparture from a classic. It might be said that the original movie maynot have been exceptional plot wise but it had an undefined somethingthat spawned this sequel or whatever you might have call this.Any political undercurrent was missing and what little was talked aboutwasn't shown or the audience didn't connect with. Did Clu look indanger of losing through older Flynns inaction? Quorra gave someinsight to the genocide of her people cause she was a babe with atattoo but that's all the audience gets. Some cool effects but glow suits and ear-bursting static or cracklingnoises do not a sci-fi make. Perhaps Clu could escape the grid and runthe transport and planning here in Perth since he doesn't digimperfection, could use a program like that.I heard that good science-fiction is also a commentary on where we arecurrently and where we are all heading in the future but this movie hadas much to say about anything as Rinzla did!

A Migraine Waiting To Happen

I shouldn't really review this, having found Tron '82 boring beyondbelief with risible dialogue and an incoherent plot. So if you likedthat movie, ignore my opinion. If you felt the same way then let me warn you that 28 years worth ofprogress seems to have passed these writers by. The dialogue is ashackneyed as ever and the plot makes even less sense. The 3D is very pretty at times, but that's a thin excuse for thismovie. Plus it features what has to be the most cringe-worthy andembarrassing performance of 2010 when Michael Sheen starts caperingabout like an effete cheerleader giving gay stereotype lessons. This is the sort of movie that gives sci-fi a bad name. It makes Avatarseem deep and meaningful, so I suggest you watch that again instead.
