As night falls, all parties coincidently seek shelter in an isolated innwhorehouse which is run by vampires led by the high priestess Quixtla who targets Esmeralda. nothing special but not a bad vampire movie

this prequel to FDTD is quite entertaining. its got sex, violence, profanity... what more could a guy want? you may get confused with all of the guys that look alike but its entertaining enough. rebecca gayheart was also in urban legend and scream 2 for those of you who didnt know. see it, its worth it

It was a good vampire movie better than 2 I think it told how some of it started

A piece of trash

From Dusk Till Dawn 3 has a lame story about ridiculous-looking vampirestrying to kill a bunch of people you don't care about. The whole thing isboring, predictable and not scary at all - the suspense and terror fromthegood vampire movies is instead replaced by gratuitous violence with nopurpose at all. A common mistake, so, unless you're one of those whoenjoyswatching things like blood spilling everywhere and a person ripping offanother one's testicles for two hours, you shouldn't bother watching thistime waster.Special effects are okay and acting is sleep-inducing. One good thingFDTD3has is the photography, but it's not like this alone can save a moviefromcomplete disgrace. I rate it 1.

Loved it

Oh No!!! Blockbuster screwed up my order but instead of giving me "FromDusk 'Til Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money" but instead I got this movie Iloved everything about this film. It had the right amount of blood andguts including a face/gun incident. There is not a lot of language(which I think sometimes works better for some movies) hot actors(goodlooks I mean) and a pretty good story line I would of gave it a 10 butI deducted 3 points for the particular Tango seen between Orlando Bloomand Rebecca Gayheart to me it was pointless and a waist of time. Theonly other complaint is that I wished there was another movie toexplain exactly what went on in the Aztec temple before thePilgrims/T**ty Twister place was built, so sorta like Queen of theDamned (Book Version that is) but if that would happen then peoplemight want the same thing about who turned those people into vampiresand so on. Really you can't please everyone but besides that go rent ifyou see it on the shelves at your movie store or you rent online (Likeme!) then enjoy'.

Good follow-up is better than second...

"From Dusk till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter" is a mostly fun little movie that doesn't have the memorable quality of the first, but loses the bland delivery of the second. More of a prequel than a sequel, this movie is about a Mexican outlaw who kidnaps an executioner's daughter and finds himself chased by soldiers, criminals and, of course, vampires. The ending is very cool with the action staying pretty solid. A fun hour and a half of nonstop action and humor.

the return

ok so the series has a better beginning but this film redeems what was lost from the second chapter. i actually watched this one and quite enjoyed the setting and the story behind it. again the director lets us down but the cast is likable and the story isn't that bad. in a way it treads the same as number one with the set up but the worst part is that it never joins number one at the top. still bad but worthy of a night in, guess what? you don't even have to see number two to know what's going on. one saving factor no doubt, trust me im doing you a favour

Being hung or re-watching this? Tough decision...

From the false advertising on the cover to the B-movie acting, I just don't know where to begin with this thing. Or more importantly, maybe I should start off by asking "what isn't wrong with this movie?". First off, the front cover mentions in big, bold letters "From Quentin Tarentino, From Robert Rodriguez". Now, we all know that they wrote and directed the first film, but they had absolutely nothing to do with this one. Putting that on the cover would suggest that they were the ones that made this movie. Anyone that looks up information on this flick would know that they didn't, but the average movie goer doesn't. Also of note is the fact that the REAL director's name isn't listed anywhere on the cover. I know they did this to try and cash in on the name value of Tarentino and Rodriguez, but if I were those two, I'd be embarassed to have my name be associated with something as bad as this.As if the last terrible straight-to-video B movie sequel of From Dusk Till Dawn wasn't bad enough, we now get a prequel of sorts. The story takes place 100 years ago in Mexico and follows an outlaw named Johnny Madrid, who has just escaped being hung. He kidnaps the hangman's daughter, Esmeralda, rounds up his buddies, and hides away in a bar for the night. But this bar isn't all that it seems, as mayhem suddenly unfolds (when I mention "mayhem", I of course mean the same exact thing that happened in the original happens again here, except with cheaper make-up effects). Luckily, our heroes escape into a pasageway in the basement and wander around for about 15 minutes. Suddenly, they all start fighting and they fall back into the main bar area where all the vampires are (Yes, that's right. They wandered for 15 minutes, only to find that they didn't even go anywhere). The vampires tie them up, and we find out that Esmeralda is really Santanico Pandemonium (the character that Salma Hayek played in the original. Apparently, someone actually thought that character was interesting enough to fill out a whole movie. Sorry guys, but when you don't even have Salma, the plan fails miserably). This movie gets even weirder as Esmeralda bites her father (which turns him into a vampire of course), and then, for reasons that aren't explained, starts making out with him (I'm not talking about her giving him a little peck or anything, as this appears to be full, French kissing action. Maybe the director has some sick fantasy about wanting to see kids making out with their parents, but nobody else cares to see stuff like that). Eventually, Madrid and another character leave. The End.As you can see, most of the plot is pretty bad. The only thing is, with the right actors, a higher budget, and a director that doesn't have fantasies about incest, this could have actually been good. But in reality, we get scenes that don't make sense and many plot elements that don't go anywhere. The acting, as you can expect, is usual below average B movie stuff. But one actress in particular (Jordana Spiro) annoyed me to end. This actress looks like a guy (for half of the movie, they only referred to her as "Reece" or "The Kid". I only found out she was a female when they mentioned her first name about half-way through the movie), and she has the most annoying voice I've ever heard. The only saving factors are Danny Trejo (who was also in the first one and the sequel) and Orlando Jordan. Jordan steals the scenes that he's in, as he plays a humorous salesman that would go on and on about the qualities of something as simple as a hair brush. Trejo is a fairly good actor that has a nice physique for his age, so I have to wonder why a guy like him is still appearing in B-movies.Unless you enjoy senseless gore, I'd advise against seeing this one. And if you do like gore, just see the first one again. I've seen the original 20+ times, and would still rather see it again than watch "The Hangman's Daughter" a second time.

Terrific,even better than the original.

This terrific film is one of the greatest movies of all time.I watched thefirst one and it became my favorite movie.I watched the second and it didthe same. Then I watched this spectacular work and now this is myfavorite. This masterpiece is well worth your time and money.I highlyrecommend it.

All in all, quite an impressive piece of work.

After seeing the PATHETIC From Dusk Til Dawn 2, wasn't expecting much ,but I was pleasantly surprised. I won't spoil the movie for anyone butthis story (which is actually the prequel to the excellent originalFrom Dusk Til Dawn) is well written and well directed. Great productionvalues, very interesting characters, decent plot, ASTONISHING actionsequences. And WHAT A CAST! Michael Parks is amazing as Ambrose Bierce, TemuraMorrison is terrifying as the Hangman--and then you've got MarcoLeonardi, Sonya Braga, Rebecca Gayheart, and Orlando Jones! All in all, quite an impressive piece of work.

Hey, At Least It Was Better Than the Second...

This movie was not good at all, but at least it was better than the previous one. The acting was mediocre, the visuals were even worse than the second one, and it was just boring. The entire movie was boring, predictable, and plain. I suggest you only see this if you really want to, because this is a snore fest.

Back to being decent

From dusk till dawn 3: the Hangman's daughter, it basically a remake ofof the first From dusk to dawn. The difference being that it based 100years in the past . What starts out as a western ends in a gory vampirefight. Just like Crime thriller turned Gory vampire fight. After thevery disappointing sequel, the producers decided to make a prequel inwhich it tells the story of how Santanico Pandemonium came to be. Isthis story a good one? Well it can certainly hold your attention forthe whole length of the film.If there one positive to take out from this film then it the fact thatit has the same feel as the original. The second film failed due tofact that it was a totally different vampire film. The script isaverage, the acting is good enough and the direction is good. Theshootouts are well executed and the effects are again decent. ifanything, the woman who played Reece was poor.Overall this a enjoyable film, nothing spectacular but after the verybad sequel, i guess you don't care.

Johnny-113 17 March 2012

Very exciting film...

The first twenty minutes of this film are amazing. The characters areinteresting and fun. It's too bad that vampires had to be introducedbecause it just makes the film ridiculous. The lead character is fantasticbecause he's complex. We hate him and really want to like him.

Fun sequel packs enough gore and atmosphere to make for a cult classic

I loved the first "Dusk Till Dawn" and it really bugged me to see howterrible the second one turned out to be. When I got a copy of the third oneat the video store I work at, I kept thinking how was it going to be.Surprising enough, its a fun-filled sequel with plenty of kinetic camerawork and gore that really keeps it up to the first. The acting is solid fromthe cast and everyone plays it out fine, especially Marco Leonardi as thetough lead and Michael Parks, who played a sheriff in the first. For a smallbudget, the special fx look great and its good to see the old fun-filledmakeup being splattered on the screen. The plot that follows is veryinteresting and all the characters are well developed. First-time directorP.J. Pesce does a great joband handles the camera work well. It creates a perfectly odd western film. The only faults I had were that just when things are getting better aroundthe plot in the first half, then suddenly piles on the gore, drowningeverything from the intriguing storyline. I didn't mind, but it really takesout most of the plot/logic of the film. The end also seemed quite rushed.(SPOILER WARNING AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!) - I was disappointed since they finish itexactly like the first and you really want to find out what happens to thesurvivors of the bloodbath. All around and despite downfalls, I thought it was a great deal of fun and amighty good cult film to watch with friends who have strong stomachs. Don'tmiss it if you enjoyed the first.

TheOtherFool 14 March 2012

Why did I even bother?

I wasn't too impressed by the first two parts, but hell, once you've seentwo you might as well make it three. Not that I would've missed anything ifI skipped this one...Movie starts out as a western, and this sure is the best part. Classy, stylish shots in the desert, and it even has something of a story. But oncethey come near to that famous bar, you know it's gonna be just like thefirst two movies...Rebecca Gayheart is gorgeous and Michael Parks is great as writer AmbroseBierce, but thats about it.Only watch if you're a big fan of the series, 4/10.

tomimt 12 March 2012

Better than the second one.

Surprisingly enough 'From Dusk Till Dawn 3' is a western/horror unlikeits predecessors. But the setting is mainly the only difference here,as the end part of he film is a vampire slaughter fest.Unlike the part 2, FDTD3 actually takes place in the bar, that will beknown as the Titty Twister on the first film. This time a bunch ofoutlaws and travelers and soldiers find their way in this brothel. After a bit the true nature of the bar patrons is revealed and theblood fest begins.Out of the sequels of 'From Dusk Till Dawn' this one is clearly thebetter one. Jokes work better and actors do their best and even thesmall, yet predictable plot works pretty well. All things together, 'From Dusk Till Dawn 3' ain't the greatest filmever, but it is good way to spend an hour and a half.

Unexpectedly Good

I felt i had to write this comment so that those of you out there who, likeme, watched Dusk Till Dawn 2 & were VERY disappointed, will give this oneago. It is very well made, has lots of lovely gore & girls and, unlikeno.2,has a good script. Trust me, rent this one and you will enjoyyourself...

Tarco Barnes 10 March 2012

Damn good film--surprisingly so

Starts out like a Sergio Leone Western and mutates into a vampire filmliketheoriginal. Great shootouts, surprisingly good cast and performances, beautifullyshot. Not a great script (unfortunately no Tarantino writing on thisone)but adamn good piece of work.

2 stars out of 5

Alright, I've had enough. I have no problem with sequels, but I don't remember this one being very interesting or even gory. It's a given that it's not gonna be scary and that the acting will suck rotten eggs, but at least make it gory and get SOME kind of reaction from the viewer.

from dusk till dawn 3 the hangedmans daughter

this was my fav of the the three dusk movies. here we are introduced to the "princess" at the begining of her "rein". it mixes gore/drama/and comedy together expanding on a already established storyline that is bright and explosive. this story forshadows what is to become of the "twister"bar that is the main set of the first movie. what the second one was lacking was an identity and this one with the help of the lead character is all about identity. this gets a four fangs rating from me
