I love grey's anatomy. It is a wonderful show, and it's sweet, funny, and fun to watch. The characters I like the most are: Bailey, Chief, and Christina. The show is all about doctors, and operations, and ofcourse, relationships. I think this show can go on and on and on for along time. I think it will do well. I hope it makes more than 4seasons, because I think that it's a really popular show. All thecharacters are good, and all the actors and actresses play their owncharacter well, so I don't see it stopping at season 4. When I firstwatched season 1, I loved it. Then I watched season 2, I liked it, butdidn't love it. I thought season 1 was too short, but I think it wasbetter then season 2, in a way. Season 3 was good, but not excellent. Ilove grey's anatomy, and I'm so glad they're still showing it on air. Igive the whole show a 10/10.

This new to 2005 TV series focuses on the lives of a group of young, new surgical residents in Seattle. The title character is Dr. MeredithGrey, whose mother, now in early dementia, was a renowned surgeon. Theyoung Dr. Grey is played by Ellen Pompeo, a fairly experienced youngactress who has a face that is more interesting than beautiful, but heracting is believable, making her a good choice for the role. All theothers think she may be getting preferred treatment, but we see thatshe appears to be a gifted doctor. The good ensemble cast includes quite a few, but I have three otherfavorites. Sandra Oh plays Dr. Yang, ambitious, always trying to getpicked to assist in surgery, and in recent episodes has begun aclandestine affair with Dr Burke (Houstonian Isaiah Washington), one ofmembers of the surgical team. The other is Chandra Burke, anotherHoustonian, as the 'nazi' Dr. Miranda Bailey. She is in charge of thenew residents, and makes them understand early that when she issleeping, they should only disturb her if someone is on the verge ofdeath. She really is a good and kind character, but she has to play ittough to establish boundaries. So far I have only seen two or three episodes, but they have beeninteresting, well-written, and well-acted. Not the usual "doctor" soapseries.

The TV musical has had its day in the sun on more than one occasion. One of the most famous was Buffy the Vampire Slayer's, "Once More withFeeling." It was creative, brilliant, cheesy, and memorable. Itreflected the heart of the show magnificently.Shonda Rhimes was inspired by this Buffy spectacular and has, apparently, wanted to do a musical episode since the birth of Grey'sAnatomy.Well she finally got her shot. Details of the episode were tightlyguarded, and only snippets were released. We were told that SaraRamirez, aka Callie, who is rumored to have a magnificent voice, wouldbe featured, the music would be from the Grey's Anatomy soundtracks andcryptically, "this was not going to be your regular musical". AlthoughI must say I am not sure there is a staple for this genre as of yet.So with almost no information I plundered into the episode via my DVR.First, the opening scene was absolutely horrifying! Seeing Callie onthe hood of the car, knowing that she was pregnant was absolutetorture. Then she starts singing. Sara Ramirez has a close to angelicvoice. It is strong, clear, and just wonderful. As the scene changes Iget it, I see what they are going to do, and I am interested. One of the things that was impressive about this episode, and I cannotbelieve I am saying it, was the sound editing. The writers mixed realdialog within the lyrics of the song so that the sound was simultaneousand yet both were surprisingly clear. So I am thinking, okay this isgoing to be all Callie, I am okay with that I guess. Then Kevin Kidd, aka Owen, starts singing as if it is the most naturalthing in the world, and I am digging it. This continues throughout thestory, jumping from character to character. In fact the only two Ithink didn't sing were Chief Webber and Christina. There was also aguest appearance by Kate Walsh, as her re-occurring character ofAddison Montgomery. One of the great things about the Buffy musical episode was that itmoved the main story along in a different way. It was a different pathof emotion that made it enjoyable. This was also the case with Grey's.It did a good job of moving the story forward while also remainingindependent and special. While I did enjoy the episode, I will say itdid not have the wow factor I wanted. I really wanted it to be soawesome that I would want to watch it again. Sadly that is not thecase. This might make my top ten Grey's episodes, but it would sadly beranked number eight or nine.Overall an impressive showing, but I am looking forward to the returnof the prime Grey's drama I know, love, and look forward to every week.Amy Romine BellaOnline's Prime Time TV Editorhttp://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art23804.asp

This is the one show that I pine to see every week; I can't wait till10 on Sunday nights. This show, no matter that the main characters areadults, is very accessible to teens and younger people. Because it'snot totally gruesome and dark like ER, it is not always sad to watch. It's funny and light sometimes. and other times, and can get a deeper, and dramatic. I love the romance between Derek and Meredith, and theway it's played out. The interactions between the characters, althoughdramatized for television, seem real and believable. I love the frissonbetween the interns and the attending, and how the interns tease eachother about which attending is getting is more powerful. All in all, this show is great and is complicated without being toodifficult to remember the characters names and who they are in contextto the story. You could start watching it now, and not be have to worryabout not understanding it.

I just don't get this show at all. A friend of mine who shares similarTV tastes with me suggested I buy the DVD set because this would be ashow I'd really love. Well, I couldn't even get through half of thefirst disk! The characters are shallow, the stories are moronic and thwriting level is something on par with 4th grade. There is nothingbelievable or redeeming about anything or anyone on this show. Ther isno humanness to the characters to hook on to. In short, I could notcare less about one of the regulars on this show.It comes across as some "C" level writer's idea of pithy cool writingand instead, it's predictable, dumb and uninteresting. Not sure whatthe fuss is about and I do not know how this show has stayed on theair!

Having watched the entire series now I have to highly recommend thisshow. I have been through quite a few evening "soap operas" and I cansay that this one has the makings of drawing you in from the start. Onone hand I can't exactly say with all certainty that this is a typicalday in the life of hospital medical staff about to finish up theirrequired courses to be able to say yes I am a surgeon. And be able tocall the shots or hand their own shingle. But after watching thisprogram the way the day to day personal lives have intertwined at thehospital they are working in Seattle. You begin to say way how much like real life are these stories. You canbegin to feel for these characters and also to have others that willbother you to know end. All in all I would give this show on a ratingof 1-5 with 5 being the highest a 10. The show has way exceeded myexpectations and now I can't wait for the new season to begin.Hopefully ABC won't make us wait too long before this season isreleased on DVD.

With all the bitching and childish behavior that goes on in this showanyone would expect it to be set in college, not in a hospital. With agreat name like Grays Anatomy, one would expect a high premise ofmedical situations, procedures and indeed, the feelings of the doctorsand patients within the hospital. We get none of this. Instead we get abunch of grown adults acting like children. This is ( and should beclassified as) a soap opera, not a "medical drama" as the network wouldhave us believe. However, I am aware that some people enjoy petty squabbling betweenstereotypically pretty people pretending to be doctors by wearing whitecoats and steamy "will they wont they" situations arising betweeninterns and residents. This show has all of that, with none of thecomplicated (or realistic) medical or hospital business to get in theway of a "good" juicy storyline. It really does seem out of place being set in a hospital. Thecharacters don't act or speak like doctors and the hospital is just abackdrop for their petty squabbles or torrid love affairs. This show is saved ONLY by fairly decent acting from the main cast. However, I will add that none of them have any extremely notablecharisma, they are just decent actors. If you want to see a good medical drama with real human emotions, comedy, love, friendship, etc...I suggest SCRUBS or BODIES. They're amillions times better.

Grey's Anatomy... sigh. Sunday night's guilty pleasure that I secretlylooked forward to all week long has slowly morphed into a Thursdaynight guilty and awkward experience.I must say, the show started out well for me. I am no doctor so themedical errors never bothered me; the drama seemed real enough and thecharacter's lives incredibly intriguing. Personally, I found Pompeo'scharacter comparable to a wilting flower... however, her chemistry withdreamy Dempsey kept me from complaining. The other characters werelikable enough; sure, the level of sexual activity is a bit exaggeratedbut how else were they going to hold half of their viewers?I was hooked to my TV set every Sunday night... this was before wediscovered Tivo so I would allow myself to sacrifice a good night'ssleep for the show. But now we're into the 3rd... or is it 4th (they had a break over theholidays) season and it seems like the show has run out of ways to keepour attention. The writers seem to come up with the most wacky, rare, unrealisticcases on the planet that coincidently all manifest within Seatle Gracehospital. Once the typical heart transplant recipient or cancer patientgot old, it was time to bring in the conjoined twins, the girl withtoxic blood (who causes half the hospital to pass out) and theincredibly rare Vader's syndrome. The most recent episode, part 1 of major ferry boat accident, is justtoo outrageous for me. Not only was the filming poor (ofcourse theyweren't able to get a real ferry boat on fire in Seattle harbor onfootage) but the whole situation is just too much drama for what haspassed as an intriguing soap opera until now. There's some huge crisisevery week. How realistic is it that hospitals would send inexperiencedinterns into this kind of situation, anyway? Plus, the acting seems tobe slouching a bit. I think Grey's has stepped out of its league here. Its trying to besomething its not. What was wrong with a few touching cases and somenew developments in the character's romantic lives? And why not work onthe accuracy of minor surgeries before attempting to create a majordisaster?Well, all I can say is I have resigned to Tivo and will no longersacrifice my night's sleep for this totally far-fetched, unrealisticdrama.

This television series is one of the best dramas I've ever seen in awhile. The cast has great chemistry, especially Patrick Dempsy andEllen Pompeo. The script is flawless, full of new obstacles for eachcharacter to go through per episode, with bits of comedic writing in itas well. I have compared this series with the ER series and personally,I like this series much better. Grey's Anatomy has bits of life lessonsfor viewers to learn every so often. Many episodes breaks your hearts, making you feel tempted to even yell or shout at the television screen!Great cliff-hangers, making viewers waiting impatiently until nextThursday to see what happens next! Overall, Grey's Anatomy is awonderful show. Tune in!

After watching a marathon 20 episodes of season 2, i just needed aforum to voice my opinion about Grey's Anatomy. This series has gotsome great characters, you will in fact get all your typed charactersin this series, A tom boy intern (christiana) , A smart mouth (Alex), Alovable goof (George), A hottie (Izzie), A bad ass (bailley)..etc etc.The only problem I have with the series is Dr. Grey and DrShepherd...MAN THEY ARE ANNOYING!!!! Their relationship stuff is somind numbing, How can one even sympathize with these characters whenthey are so selfish that one will get back with his wife only to keepflirting with Dr. Grey and other to sleep through half the Seattlepopulation only to cry at the end of each episode, pining for DrShepherd. I cant even explain how much I hate their character !!!
khund18 13 April 2012
Grey's Anatomy has no comparison with shows like scrubs, ER and anyother medical show for that matter. It is NOT "over-hyped". Theproducers can't help it if everyone is talking about their show becauseit simply is THE BEST. It is not unrealistic. It is entertainment-- soits pretty obvious that good-lucking actors will be portraying thecharacters and it makes the show all the more watchable andinteresting. As a doctor i understand that the show does its best todisplay what doctors go through; the problems, complications, andeverything in between. Each character in the show gets you moreaddicted to the show. All those people out there who criticize Grey'sprobably don't understand it and lead sad pathetic lives.

Grey's Anatomy raps everything you want in a drama series into one hellof an amazing show. Some hilarious moments to lighten up the night, yetthe most intense and depressing scenes with the top-notch acting. The story lines are smart and the character development also excels. The writing scores a 10/10. Great script delivered by a fabulous cast.A standout is Golden Globe winner Sandra Oh, who portrays the arrogant, unloving yet hysterical Dr. Cristina Yang. Supposed "has been" PatrickDempsey plays the dreamy Dr. Derek Shepherd (if you're a woman and youwatch this show, you'll adore him) So you want a sad show that willmake you shed tears? This is the show for you. Talk a little bit withthe friends of yours that have good taste (AkA watch Grey's Anatomy)andthey'll explain how long it took them to get over some of thebreath-taking scenes. What if you're not so much the teary-type, but more of the "I want somemedical action!" type? The two-part episode that aired after theSuperbowl last year drawed in various viewers who enjoy watchingaction-packed intense shows. For someone who doesn't make a peep duringmovies like "The Blair Witch Project" or "The Exorcist", I'll admit Ihad my jaw down to the floor during the action-packed episode whichfeatured a bomb inside a patients body that could explode at anymoment.Perhaps you like the funny side of life? Grey's Anatomy will deliver atleast... hmm... 10 or more hilarious moments each episode? Check outthe quotes section on IMDb and you'll find many hilarious jokes. Ifyour friend ever started using the term "va-jay-jay" it's this showthat created it.Grey's Anatomy isn't your typical medical drama, however. It's notabout the patients (ER). Nor about the cases (House). But it's aboutthe characters and that is the single most important thing in a dramaseries as the characters are the ones that you connect to and pull youin.GIVE IT A SHOT! Don't waste your time this year with boring andrepetitive shows such as CSI. One episode. One episode is all it takesto drag you in. I suggest the Season 1 premiere, or the Season 2finale.

Why is Sandra Oh getting all this pub? She can't act and is hideous tolook at. (It has nothing to do with her race, I just can't stand tolook at her and her "acting" is a joke) Although, I did see the end oflast week's show and the "crying" that Grey did in the closet afterwatching the old lady die when the plug was pulled was about the worstacting I have seen in some time...My wife likes this show and never misses it. But even she can't standSandra Oh. Have we reached the point that we have to be so friggen P.C. we can'tsay something bad about someone that isn't white?I'm not saying that all the actresses have to be TENS, but why is the"ugo" being made out to be the best thing on this show?

One of the best medical dramas containing not only medical cases butalso a natural view at human relationship. The wide variety of different and colourful characters is somethingwhat makes this television drama so successful. The drama is filled up with humour which is also a key element to thesuccess of the series. Those 128 episodes contain all spectrum of human emotions. The screenplays are lively making the series suitable for the wholefamily. Actors are stunning. It seems that they live up the life theyare acting. The ability and success of looking inside of human mind allow me to putthis drama at the top of those TV series that worth watching.

This is an amazing show and it is the first that I have actuallywatched continually. The difference in the characters' attitudes andthe comedy and the drama make it a great show. The plot of this seriesis never really obvious, making it addicting to watch every Thursdaynight. I think that the thing that has gotten so many people hooked onit is that it's not just about the patients in the hospital and theirproblems, but about the people that work at the hospital and theirrelationships and their personal lives. Without that feel to the show,it would just be like "Scrubs" or "ER". I have been very impressed withSeason 3 and hope the show continues for a long while.
hoopsdowntown12 07 April 2012
This show is about as thought provoking as interpreting a three yearold's finger painting. Generally, somebody has some problem with themthat is relatively ignored throughout the entire show. The real show, the real reason anybody likes this show, is the pathetic "back-plot"that is the relationships behind the doctors. The show is filmed, asmost soap operas are, in the most cliché way. There is no attempt atmaking this show intellectually stimulating, but rather the opposite. Iwould recommend this show to girls from the age of 16 to roughly 25(about the age when you stop caring about everybody else's problems andput some stock in your own life instead), "Days of our Lives" fans, anyone who doesn't find pleasure in anything remotely intellectuallystimulating, or just shallow dudes that like blonds. Anyone who defendsthis as anything more than a soap opera should just be embarrassed thatthey allow themselves to indulge in something so awful.
ek541 04 April 2012
Never in my life have I seen a worse show. The characters are shallow, have panic attacks literally ever 30 seconds, ignore actual patientsand worry about each other, and the whole thing seems completelyunrealistic. I wish Ellen Pompeo would stop with the George Bushimpersonation and actually open her eyes. Just a terrible show. Abetter title would be "girl doctors who complain about their sex livesand pretty much whore around the whole time". If you want to see anear-perfect medical show, then hit up FOX on Tuesday nights to see adoctor at his finest: Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House. Laurie'scharacter, a pain-killer addicted M.D. with no regard for manners but agenius doctor, brings sheer brilliance to the screen, making the showunbelievably intense and suspenseful, yet manages to be completelyrealistic, and he ACTUALLY DEALS WITH HIS PATIENTS, rather than sleepwith his co-workers. Grey's is just extremely sub-par, and fails toattract any demographic other than females who've had "every kind ofboyfriend." In other words, ditch Grey's, watch House. Period.
sensey98 03 April 2012
At the beginning, I didn't think I would like this show. I've been adaytime (and night-time, in the 80's) soap fan of long standing, andwas getting off on Desperate Housewives, when GA came on the screen. Atfirst glance, it seemed like yet another lame attempt at "diversity"for diversity's sake and besides, who needed yet another medical drama? But.Like a train wreck, I couldn't take my eyes off the scene. The actingseemed competent, as did the directing, yet there was clearly somethingmore at work here. It took a few weeks before I actually watched anentire episode from start to finish, and soon after, GA joined themust-see list and was added to my weekly DVR rotation.Simply put, this show brings out nearly every emotion that televisionis capable of conjuring up. It's been described as a medical soap, andyes, that is accurate, but it goes beyond that. As with a soap, westart to care more and more about the characters, and each one is wellfleshed out. Even newcomers can join the cast and are quickly graftedonto the whole. The level of drama has reached some incredible heights, what with the "code black" double episode of a few weeks back. Youstart to wonder if they can top themselves. Somehow, I think they will. The season finale promises to do just that. If you are new to GA, Isuggest you record this show before viewing. The dialog and actionsometimes moves at a frenetic pace and you will miss key elements ifyour mind wanders even for ten seconds. At this point, I cannot imagine my television viewing without Meredith,Yang, Burke, Shepard, O'Malley, Bailey, et al. Far beyond merelycompetent actors, they seem like old friends after less than a year.ABC has created something wonderful here. I just hope it can last.

Nothing gets better than this. Leaving work early every Sunday night tosee what's up with 9PM block on ABC in HAWAII. Love to be on that edge, wondering if she is going to have her McDreamy. It makes the suspenseso intense! Grey and Shepard are a wonderful duo. The cast in the showare so awesome. Remembering Patrick Dempsey in "Can't Buy Me Love" andnow a very mature individual who achieved so much to get where he's atnow. Ellen Pompeo as a very fresh face in the Primetime Segment, andmany other characters as well. As my four daughters would say, "Theremust be more to life than Grey's Anatomy, Mom!" I replied, "I have youfour girls first, but now it's my time...my time for McDreamy & Grey."They all laughed and now leaves me alone for only one hour of laughterand tears.

I have enjoyed this series from the very start. It is nice to have onlya few main key characters to follow - allowing them the chance to havemore in-depth story lines outside their hospital duties. Whilst some ofthe couplings were easy to see coming others weren't. Nice twist withAddisons former lover reappearing to re-win her affections only for himto make a pass at Meredith. The most unexpected for me is that ofGeorge & Callie. The last few episodes here in the UK have had mescreaming at the TV that they cant end there.... The episode endingwith Preston shot down outside the hospital and the following one -pure genius. Izzys love triangle with the almost dying Danny and thesometimes annoying Alex only add to the romantic intrigue. These mixedwith the weekly medical cases of varying severity make the show a mixof drama romance and light black comedy. Loved the episode with theunexploded bomb in the patients chest cavity - it was great television.I only wish it was on terrestrial TV here in UK - I rave about it towork colleagues and they don't have Cable so are really missing out.Keep it up for many seasons to come....
