Rebel Without a Cause meets Ordinary People in postmillennial Manhattan, resulting in Hollywoodland director Allen Coulters Remember Me. Twilights tousle-haired Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a chain-smoking New York University student with a substantial chip on his shoulder. Drifting through life devoid of ambition, he lost his older brother to suicide, his parents are divorced, and his father, Charles (Pierce Brosnan), spends more time in the boardroom than with his kids (Lena Olin plays Tylers mother). Tyler takes refuge in his friendships with wisecracking roommate Aidan (Tate Ellington) and artistic younger sister Caroline (Ruby Jerins). One night, he and Aidan enter a scuffle outside a club, and Sergeant Craig (Chris Cooper) takes him in for mouthing off, even though he was trying to break things up. When Aidan discovers that they go to school with Craigs daughter, Ally (Losts Emilie de Ravin), he dares his pal to date and dump the Queens coed to get back at Craig. Game for anything, Tyler gives it a try, and Ally takes the bait, but he puts all thoughts of revenge aside when he finds himself falling in love. Ten years before, Ally lost her mother (Martha Plimpton in an unbilled cameo), and she understands him better than most anyone else, but the timing is off, and the events of 911 will change the lives of both families forever. The descent toward melodrama at the end threatens to derail Coulters delicate project, but he sets things right in time to make Remember Me an affecting experience.

I gave this movie 4 stars because I am female and this is definitely a "chick flick". Bring tissues! I went to see "Remember Me" because I like Robert Pattinson and wanted to see how well he did in a non-Twilight movie. I have to say that I was really impressed. He did a great job acting in this movie. His character was believeable and well played. There was real spark between him and his leading lady. His relationship with his "little sister" in the movie was touching and enviable. All little girls would love to have such a protective and loving big brother. At times, I thought the movie moved a little slowly but because Pattinson was so very visible, I didn't mind that at all! I would have rated it with 3 stars when there were only 10 minutes left in the film but the ending blew me away,(and added a star!). It was such a delicate subject, yet handled very well. The title, "Remember Me" could have been simply "Remember". It gets the point "Treasure the people in your lives" across very well.

I went to go see this movie today with my girlfriend. She, like manyother movie-goers, was lured to this movie for no other reason thanthat she saw the "oh-so-famous" vampire, Robert Pattinson, in another"love-story". Robert plays an angry, drunk, depressed college guy withan over-sexed room-mate. The "love-story" she was hoping for reallyonly turned out to be a couple of unnecessary, lusty sex-scenes thatreally didn't fit. His acting in this movie was sub par to what wasexpected from his past work in the Twilight Series. To the story-line...I waited almost an hour and a half waiting for something to actuallyhappen that contributed to the story line. During that first section, Iwasn't completely sure who the movie was actually about. Was it about acollege boy? The boy's sister? Dead brother? Father? It was very vagueon who I should actually pay most attention to. Sure, the tag-line was"Live in the moment." but that doesn't mean that the movie should be abig jumble of "moments" mashed into a screenplay. The plot was that ofa good, ten-minute You-Tube documentary, that's only meaning is toprove a point, not to entertain. Now the last 20-or-so minutes of the film was okay. There was someactual plot development. However, I wished that the development wouldhave started sooner. The actual point of the movie was made in the lasttwo minutes, which did surprise me. It was a good point to make, but itshouldn't have taken a boring, long time to make it.Overall, the film was okay. It was advertised as a love-story, which itwasn't. It had very little, and quite boring plot development, with anending that lets you down. I walked out of the theater with a slightfrown on my face.

Okay, let me start off by saying that when i first heard this movie hadRob Pattinson in it i was a little repulsed because of his past historywith films but when i heard my friends talking about it and they saidit was a great movie i decided to check it out . Well first I sortacheated by checking on here and Wikepedia to see why it was rated whatit was rated and i ended up reading the ending to the film when I firstread that i thought people always lie on wiki so i didn't think much ofit and so i bought the movie and was amazed the main actors wereamazing the supporting characters were amazing you could actuallybelieve that these characters were real people and dealt with grief, happiness, love, loss, and anger that is what makes the ending even moreheartbreaking how they approached the ending i think was done bothbeautifully now with what the critics say i don't understand how manycan say this movie was not good when i thought it was wonderful but hey" beauty is in the eye of the beholder " i guess is what applies herealso i think the ending was well and for people like me who were youngwhen the event happened found it as a great way to show that everyperson who died was not just a number but an actual person and I willadmit i cried for a good half hour after the movie was over again i saybeautiful movie and i highly recommend it

Remember Me is an amazingly haunting film. I saw it opening night andam still thinking about it; probably will for days to come. It is onethat should be seen by everyone because of the subject matter.Anyone who says Robert Pattinson can't act needs to do their homework. He most certainly can and proves it in previous films such as TheHaunted Airman, Twilight Saga, Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire,Little Ashes and How to Be. These are several different roles thatshowcase his talent. You don't play Salvador Dali if you can't act.Remember Me is another film that takes his talent to new heights. He plays Tyler Hawkins, an emotionally-withdrawn young man who doesn'tknow what he wants out of life. He meets the daughter of the cop thatthrew him in jail and decides to take her out, sleep with her and thendump her in retaliation. Along the way, however, he falls in love withher. When the truth is revealed, you can see the pain he goes throughafter Ally leaves him. Pattinson is spot-on during this whole film. Iespecially liked his protectiveness of his little sister (Ruby Jerins). You can see that she is the only one (at first) that he will open upto. Jerins is amazing and adorable as Caroline; I hope we see more ofher.Emilie de Ravin is perfect as Ally Craig. I will admit, after seeingpreviews I did not think that the Lost star was that attractive; myopinion changed after the movie. She is not only beautiful, butamazingly real in this role. She won me over.Tate Ellington plays Tyler's best friend, Aidan Hall, and also providessome of the comic relief. I have not seen this actor before but I havebecome a fan. Aidan is the one who admits that he's a "prick," but willalso go to bat for the ones he loves. You see that at the end of thefilm with his tattoo. He is a loyal friend to Tyler and Ally andEllington is great.Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper play the fathers of the leads. Bothcharacters are so different yet also the same. At the end of the movie, you see them come out of their shells and open up more. Brosnan isCharles Hawkins, a high-powered executive who can't make time for hisfamily. This infuriates Tyler and they spend part of the movie fightingabout it. After an incident with Caroline, the two make up andreconciliation is on the horizon. Cooper is Neil Craig, theover-protective father of Ally and doesn't approve of her relationshipwith Tyler. He is an aggressive cop who doesn't do things by the book.Ally and her father grow closer after tragedy strikes them at the endof the film.I won't ruin the ending for those who haven't seen it, but it wasruined for me. I went in knowing what to expect. Not that it affectedme any less; I had tears in my eyes as did much of the audience. In away, I'm glad I knew what was coming; I was able to pick up on subtlehints and foreshadowing that other people may have missed.I cannot stop thinking about this movie and I plan to see it severalmore times in the theater. I am a Twilight fan and that caused me tobecome a Pattinson fan. I'm glad I took the time (unlike some otherreviewers) to see his previous work. I have respect for Pattinson andknow he will be around for a long time. Remember Me will make youlaugh, cry, cheer and gasp at its intensity. This film will definitelybe remembered.

Overall a really good movie. Really sad, romantic and really dramatic.Robert Pattinson is amazing and i can never say i hate him again. Ifyou don't see it your missing out on everything. It is definitely thebest movie I have ever seen and nothing can top it. This movie is setin New York in the year of 2001 Tyler Hawkins meets a girl named Ally. Both of their families have been through tragedies which bring Tylerand Ally closer together. Tyler has a bad relationship with his dad andis dad doesn't seem to care much for his daughter and Tyler's youngersister Caroline. Tyler has an amazing relationship with his sister andgets really protective of her when it comes to their dad. Beware at theend for 9/11.

I thought Pattinson gave a beautifully detailed and perceptiveperformance. His head must be reeling right now, though, from thecontradictory reasons the critics found to hate him. He spent most ofthe movie unshaven, his face bruised, scraped and swollen, his bodyhidden in shapeless, wrinkled clothes, yet the critics almost to a(jealouse) man, led off with a jibe at Rob's good looks and thencontinued to snicker. His acting was dismissed as "wooden" and"inexpressive" or it was "overwrought and "melodramatic". Theconfrontation scene with his father was his "finest moment" or it was"an embarrassment". His American accent was derided. Well, what sort ofAmerican accent did they want? Wisconsin? Utah? Georgia? He gave usgeneric well-educated American with a slight Bronx undertone, and itconvinced me. The movie was either "slow and static" or it "veered fromcrisis to crisis" (One reviewer accused it of both). Its ending waseither telegraphed too obviously from the start, or a cynical attemptto shock. My thought: Good script, Fine performances, Excellent movie>

What a movie! I walked into this movie as a parent of RobertPattinson's fan and walked out of the movie as a Rob Pattinson's fan. This movie is so intense; packed with emotion. This is not a moviewhich gives me a happy weekend, but it urges me to find a way to mendmy life in order to make every day of my life worthwhile. RobertPattinson deserves his fame. I am convinced that he is one of the mosttalented actors his generation. Many Thanks to Mr. Pattinson forputting his heart and soul into this small movie. This is a movie thateverybody should watch. However, some movie critics don't think so. Itlooks like they are trying to kill this movie before it reach to massaudience. Come on, you Rob fans out there. If you have time to followRob everywhere, could you please spend some time to watch this greatmovie? Please support Rob by supporting his movie, not just snappinghis picture.

I had heard "Remember Me" being referred to as a chick-flick when it came out, so I stayed away from it when it was playing in the cinemas. Even though I guess I am still part of the targeted audience...Then a month ago I accidentally stumbled across the Twilight books, and then the movies, and wanted to see Rob Pattison in another role. This movie proved to me that he really does have potential. I had liked him in Harry Potter, but was dissapointed by his performance in the Twilight saga (though less so after watching the movies a few more times, I have to admit). He plays the role perfectly in this movie, and the whole movie is so beautifully made. I know some have complained about the use of 9/11, but that didn't bother me at all. It was definitely not central to the movie - what I mean, the "how" of the ending is irrelevant relative to the ending itself. I watched this movie three times over the past weekend after borrowing it from my public library. I was on a waiting list, actually, so I guess it must be well known that this is worth seeing. I can't wait to watch it again with my husband - I think he will enjoy it, too, although it's not his typical action movie:) Remember Me reminded me of another movie I love - Sidewalks of New York - tackling the same topic of relationship complexities, existential angst, etc., shedding extraordinary light on apparently ordinary existances...In fact, reminding us, that there ISN'T such a thing as ordinary - and that there is struggle, and passion, and dispair, and love, all around us, in all of us, all the time. Don't let yourself fooled by appearances...Anyways, I am rumbling now - but the short version of this is that you SHOULD watch this movie. I will definitely be adding it to my collection, and plan on watching it again multiple times in the future.

Although the plot was slightly hard to connect to and the seg-ways attimes seemed shallow, you cannot deny the original, genuine dramatictwists this story holds. It will grip you from beginning to end.Pattinson's acting chops are borderline award-worthy. He makes yourchest ache vicariously. A must see. But don't bother going if youalready have stubborn ill preconceived ideas about the twilightheartthrob. Have an open mind. Tyler and Edward Cullen are not thesame! The ending is a bit far fetched, as is the "intense break upscene" which is almost absurd. The fact that Ally dumps him over thatis just silly. But other than that, the story is solid, rich andentertaining. Tyler's roommate provides great comic relief in anotherwise dark and brooding screen play. Tyler's little sister providesgreat side story and his relationship with her will make your heartmelt. See it. You won't regret it.

The movie is just incredible , I'm not a fan of Twilight , i think thetwilight movies are a little flat, i still like the story, but i don'tgo see this for Robert Pattinson, but i think my girlfriend did. So Ientered the movie with no big hopes , but i came out of it with a bigsmile on my face . All the performances were just incredible, Pierce Brosnan did anExcellent job portraying a Extremely Busy and Strong Business Man.The romance/drama mix felt good, but at some times this movie felt alittle hard. The reason of all the bad reviews is because of the Ending, for manyAmericans that Ending is still really painful. Sorry for my bad English , and stop reading this and go see it forYourselfs !BottomLine: A really Good Movie 4.5/5 GO SEE IT NOW

I am kind of at a loss on how to put this movie and it's impact on me into words. It wasn't just a romantic drama. The romance was beautiful and inspiring, but this movie was about so much more than that. It was about love, hope, despair, family...life. It was beautifully acted by everyone in it. Pierce Brosnan perfectly portrayed a father, too wrapped up in his work to pay attention to his children. Chris Cooper was believable as the man who'd lost so much, he couldn't let go. Ruby Jerins touched my heart. Emelie De Ravin embodied that lovable, carefree spirit who tried not to let life get her down. And Robert Pattinson...He WAS Tyler. His performance was commanding, deep, emotional. It was brilliantly acted and you couldn't help but take notice every time he walked onto the screen. Tyler is a tortured soul, lost in some ways, trying to make it through his life. When he and Ally meet the romance is tangible and beautiful in a way that we all want to love. Robert and Emelie breathed life into these characters. I teared up watching them together. It was beautiful and breathtaking. I won't go into too many details because I really don't want to ruin the movie for those who haven't seen it. I will say Remember Me is a beautiful, tragic story. It's emotional in a completely raw, naked way that will touch your heart and--using a quote from the movie, leave its fingerprints on you that will not disappear when you walk out of the theater. Highly, highly recommended.

I didn't see this movie simply because of the terrible reviews it got, however i just finished watching it and i must say its been awhilesince I've felt this depth of emotion in a film. The acting was superband the story was life-like. you understood them and you felt for them, you cried, you laughed, and you cheered them along. At first I didn'tget the title I thought it was just random in essence, but by the endof the movie I understood what he meant by remember me, remember mylife, remember my story, and remember the 3000 other people and theirstories that were ended on that day. So final result is, that thismovie was amazing, the acting against all expectations including minewas superb, it showed how wrong we can be by judging actors by presetopinions. the story showed us how fickle Fate can be in life and death, and how one should live their life to its utmost because quite simplyyour story can end any time, whether on a subway platform or from aterrorist attack. write your story so that others will remember you.Live and Love. Peace-

I, along with the rest of the teen population, was initially interestedin seeing this film due to the lead male role being played byTwilight's very own Robert Pattinson. However, I came out of this filmwith a lot more respect for Mr. Pattinson as an actor.Portraying the character of Tyler Hawkins was done very well as theemotions that Robert portrayed throughout the course of the film wereintense and very believable. The storyline of the movie was clearlyshown and followed throughout the course of the film and, at points, moved me to tears.I honestly don't think that there was a dry eye in the audience whenthe film ended so remember to bring your tissues! All in all, RememberMe is a masterpiece of a love story with dynamic twists and turns thatwill keep you glued to your seat.A serious recommendation for all ages.

This review is coming from a 16 year old girl.. I went to see this opening night with my friend and my 20 year oldsister. We got there an hour early to avoid the Twilight fan girls. (Imyself am a fan of Twilight.. The books, the movies could have beenbetter. But I don't fan girl over them and fictional vampires..)Surprisingly, my friend and I were the youngest people there. I have to say this is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I was 7when 9/11 happened, and I really think this movie helped me understandmore of what happened that day, and what so many people went throughthat day, and are still going through. I don't know why so many peopleare hating on the ending. The whole point of the movie is to live inthe moment, because unexpected tragedies can happen at any time. I livein a small town in Nova Scotia, and could never imagine anything likethat happening where I live. But after seeing this movie, I realizeeverything can change in an instant for the best or worst. The acting and chemistry between the actors was absolutely amazing andbelievable. Especially between Robert and Ruby. That relationship wasmy favourite in the movie. It was nice to see Rob in a role that wasn'ta vampire or a wizard. He really shined in this movie with his actingskills. Even haters will see him more as Edward when they see thismovie. 10/10 for this movie. I would recommend it anyone. If you haven't seenit, go! It's worth the admission fee. Even Rob haters - go see it!You'll see him more of an actor after this movie. Just don't readthings that spoil the movie. It's worth seeing without readingspoilers.

I went to see this movie on the night it opened, because Robert Pattinson was in it. I had not read any reviews and had absolutely no idea how it would end. Throughout the movie, I sat there thinking, how does it end...who dies, who leaves. I was totally shocked, when in the classroom scene, the teacher stepped away from the blackboard and the date was shown. I was devastated....I loved the movie and it is wonderful so see that some people have not forgotten that tragic day in America's history. I, for one, will never forget. I only hate that the movie had very limited showings in limited areas. It should have done better.

Okay I will fully admit that I love Twilight. But I did not go to thismovie for Twilight. I went to it because I was dedicated enough to readthe ending before I saw it and that compelled me beyond love for Rpatz(lol) to go see it. This movie had such an obvious cloud hanging overit, but it made the characters develop wonderfully. The relationshipbetween Rpatz and Caroline was sooo cute! Anyone who is willing toscare the ever living God out of a vicious 11 year old girl is a greatbig brother in my mind. The dynamic between Tyler and his father in theoffice shouting scene was incredible. It reminds you to tell people howmuch they really mean to you while you have the chance. The way the ending was done was very beautifully classic. I have notseen the buildings portrayed that way since before Sept 11th happened. The fact that they showed aftermath and reaction instead of showing aplane hit was very well done. My husband is military and he goesoverseas because of that happening and he was very impressed. TheAmerican people don't need to watch it over and over again. This wasvery well done. Two thumbs way way up for this movie!

I saw Remember Me a while ago. Avatar was the big thing when my husband and I went to the theatre, but Rob Pattinson's film was what I wanted to see. I'm a huge Twilight saga book/film fan too and I just couldn't wait to see him do something else. RP is a rare find. He's going to be so hugely important in this profession. There's so much more to this guy and we're going to get to see all! He is so much more than his amazing face! The depth and nuances of his performance is there. It's a sometimes difficult and uncomfortable film to watch and then its touching, funny, tender, and beautiful too. There's so much to this film, that you just need to see it to understand. You leave the theatre wanting to talk about it. I'm going to own it so that I can see it over and over again. I'm one of those who has lost a husband & a brother tragically and could identify with Tyler and the harsh effects of such personal loss on family members. Needless to say, every emotion is felt at some point in this film. You get a real workout with these characters. I loved it! You will too. It's so real life. A huge Thank You to Rob Pattinson for making this film. You made me weep again over my lost loved ones and you reminded me of the beauty and preciousness of life!

There ought to be a law against using the tragedy of September 11, 2001for cheap, manipulative, teen drivel. There, I said it. This film endswith the attacks on 9/11. Now there's absolutely no reason for anyoneto waste 2+ hours of their life to watch this derivative piece of crap. This is a badly written, badly directed, and badly acted film. Which isnot surprising because when the movie ends you realize that it was onlyever conceived as "an ending" (9/11) to begin with. The "movie" wasloosely sorted out later as an afterthought to justify it. It isessentially, an ending in search of a movie... I cannot believe that this garbage ever got backing. One can onlyconclude that this was dreamed up as a way to capitalize on RobertPattinson's popularity. This movie genre is not new, or necessarilybad. It's about teen angst: Romeo and Juliet, Legend of Billie Jean,Rebel Without a Cause... Nothing new. There've been many before. Somevery good. There'll be many in the future. But, the plot points of thisscript are ridiculous. It really jumps the shark when Pattinson'scharacter's little sister gets her hair chopped off at a birthdayparty, for no reason, by a bunch of mean girls. She's traumatized so hetakes her to school the next day as her protector, and in front of herclass, and her teacher, whips up on one of her female classmates(another 9 year old) for saying, "Did you do something different withyour hair?" And then hurls a fire extinguisher through the classroomdoor and out into the hallway. And even though he committed battery ona child, terrorized a whole classroom full of children, and vandalizeda school, he's able to be bailed out, once again, by the father hehates (because he earns a living, what a bad man). In the real worldyou do serious time for something like that because a grown man whowould push a small girl around, even if she's a mean girl, has seriousproblems and can never be a hero in a movie. What's even worse about this bad movie is that is uses 9/11 in order topretend to be something more than it is. The writer of this mess,Fetters, and the director, Coulter, ought to be ashamed of themselves. If they can't make a decent movie at least have the decency not tocheapen the tragedy of 9/11 in order to provide substance to anotherwise B grade film.

I do not know why this movie wasn't as popular as some this last year. It is very good and the ending will surprise you and move you, or it did me anyway
